07:00 AM: Departure from Addis Ababa Pick up from your hotel or residence in a private 4x4 or high-clearance van. The drive takes you west through the fertile fields of the Oromia region, passing through the towns of Sebeta and Waliso.

10:30 AM: Arrival at Wenchi Crater Rim Upon arrival at the park headquarters, meet your local guide and start the descent into the caldera. You can choose to hike down the scenic trail (approx. 1 hour) or enjoy a horseback ride, which is the traditional and most popular way to navigate the crater’s steep paths.

11:30 AM: Lake Exploration & Island Monastery Reach the shores of the crystal-clear lake. Board a traditional locally-crafted wooden boat for a quiet row to the 13th-century Cherkos Church on the island. The island offers a serene atmosphere perfect for photography and reflection.

01:00 PM: Picnic Lunch & Hot Springs Enjoy a packed "Royal Picnic" lunch by the lakeshore or near the natural hot springs and mineral water valley. Relax by the small waterfalls and watch the local farmers who still use traditional watermills in the area.

03:00 PM: Ascent & Departure Begin the trek or horseback ride back up to the crater rim. Take a final moment at the viewpoint for a panoramic "Royal" photo of the entire caldera before boarding the vehicle.
